Voiceovers Direct is run
by one guy a couple of guys who like to keep things simple, and easy to understand so we all know what's what.
Our policy with regards to data collection is simple, if we don't need it, we won't ask you for it and if we do need it, we'll ask for it and make it clean what we're going to use that information for.
We know what country you're in: our server setup is automatically told where your request is coming from, we don't store this data, unless it's linked to an account signup or a sale, but we do use it to tailor pages to your timezone, currency and in some cases tax settings.
When one of your clients buys through your website, the platform will be notified of the following information:
Voiceovers Direct has no reason to ever contact your clients, and we do not store their information for any other means than your own order processing: the monitoring of this information is vital to ensure the smooth operation of the platform, and your data, and your client data, is never shared, leased, sold, nor rented, etc, it's your data and we'll keep it close.
Your contact details; name, email and phone number, will all be shared with your clients in their "Thank you for your order" emails.
To send you a notification when the services goes live, and, or to keep you up to date with future updates the mailing list application will ask you for:
Your details are kept safe: they are not sold, rented, leased, or used in any other way than to send you the updates you'd like.
The newsletter system is double opt-in, this means you must complete a form online and then click a confirmation link in your inbox in order to join the list. You will only be added to the mailing list upon clicking the confirmation link.
To unsubscribe you can leave the list with a single-click, I developed it to be easy to leave: once you've clicked the unsubscribe button it will not send you another email, not even to confirm you've been opted out.
Any mails sent will contain all the information you need to contact me, and unsubscribe.
To create and manage your account, and your voice artist website, this system will ask for:
For the sake of business I would personally advise using business specific details, for example I can trade under a stage name, or my birth name, my email address (whilst being personal and on-brand) masks my real personal email address, and mobile phone numbers are easy to obtain with either a SIM card, or online virtualisation. I use a dual SIM phone so I can have both my personal and professional lines on one handset.
I don't care what your real name is, I don't care where you live, as long as your mobile number and email work you'll be able to login and use the platform which really only needs minimal information from you to power your service.
There are only three pieces of information I really care about, the answers are either yes or no:
I am more concerned with points one and two than I am three for the simple reason, if you can answer yes to the first two questions, it's in the best interests of your voice over business to ensure the answer to the last question is also yes!
Asking for data is a pain in the backside: it needs a form, your input needs validating on the front and back end of the website, you might want to update that information at some point or delete it so it's really just easier to not ask you stuff I don't need, and only ask you for stuff that's essential to run the service for you. I like it this way as it's less for either of us to worry about.
This website does not use Google Analytics, it does not use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter plugins.
This website and client websites do not call embedded YouTube videos from the primary YouTube URL, instead it uses youtube-nocookie.com which only sets a cookie on the end user's browser once they've clicked play. This can be over-ridden by a user who many embed markup into a page that plays videos from the normal YouTube URL which will place cookies in your visitor's browser.
